2017 Mazda3: Coming Soon to Ottawa

2017 Mazda3: Coming Soon to Ottawa

With its advanced technology and refined style, the 2017 Mazda3 will certainly turn heads.

Consumers in Ottawa will soon have the opportunity to discover the new 2017 Mazda3 when it arrives in dealerships in the coming weeks. Apart from a few visual enhancements, the 2017 Mazda3 will also be more comfortable for passengers thanks to its new G-Vectoring Control technology.

G-Vectoring Control Technology Explained

Once again, Mazda has pushed the envelope further with its G-Vectoring Control technology, a new system found within SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technologies. The G-Vectoring system uses engine torque, throttle, steering, and other mechanical components together with the goal of reducing body movements when turning, thus improving passenger comfort.

The 2017 Mazda3 will also be quieter than the current model at 40 km/h thanks to several adjustments made to the body and chassis.

Under the hood, the 2017 Mazda3 receives the same engines as the current Mazda3. This means that the base model will be powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-liter SKYACTIV engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while a six-speed automatic will be optional.

In both cases, the gearboxes are developed using SKYACTIV technology which means they are lighter, more compact, and optimized to deliver impressive performance while also improving fuel consumption.

Since its launch in 2004, the compact Mazda has always stood out in terms of drivability and performance, which allowed it to be a finalist for both the World Car of the Year and Canadian Car of the Year. Then, after the arrival of SKYACTIV technology in 2012, the Mazda3 also stood out when it comes to fuel economy.

A New Style for the 2017 Mazda3 in Ottawa

Inspired by the KODO design philosophy, the current generation Mazda3 has always been able to stand out in terms of style and design. For 2017, the compact Mazda gets some subtle aesthetic improvements including a more imposing grille, a different rear bumper for the hatchback SPORT versions, and optional LED headlamps.

The interior also gets some new features, including a white finish for the optional leather seats and a redesigned steering wheel.
